The way of friendship was started in autumn (en)

September is not only just 9th month in a calendar but it is also very often called as a month of fallen leaves or as a follow-up of careless summer echoes. The beauty of autumn invites to share its bountiful presents, so we decided to look for other ways to cooperate with eTwinning partners.

We decided to make new eTwinning friends from “Dzukija” region to get to know about famous region’s places. So, according French saying L’ete c’est fini, we have finished summer and started autumn with this travel and new cooperation. The main project’s (which was called “The way of friendship”) aim was to elevate skills of cooperation. The realization of the project is based on the socialization project “Meet, socialize, go in for sports”.

It was decided to embody the project in September 23-24 (before the day of European languages).

Early in the morning we had some snacks with hot tea and at 10am started a journey from Pandelys (Rokiskis district) to Alytus which is the capital of “Dzukija” and at 2pm we reached our destination.

Alytus is the largest town in southern Lithuania which is situated near river Nemunas. There are four churches, sports centre and regional museum in Alytus. Also you can find “Dailides” lake, nice and big forest, park and garden, mound, stone “Klebonas” and other places.

After admiration of the town we went to arranged event which started at 3pm. There we met the headmaster of “Dzukija” secondary school Alvydas Gavelis, substitute for training Vilija Sušinskiene and eTwinning team. The aims of the meeting, our schools, eTwinning projects were discussed. Later we had a tour in “Dzukija” secondary school.

The work was organized in groups. The ideas for the projects, attractive activities for pupils were discussed. After intensive day we had a rest in that school. There we slept also.

Morning… At 8am we arrived to Druskininkai where we visited many famous places in Lithuania: “Gruto parkas”, Ciurlionis museum. Also we met with colleagues from Druskininkai “Atgimimo” secondary school. Audronė Dreinienė, English teacher, organized special tour in Druskininkai for us.

It’s time to leave friends and go home. At 4pm we leaved and at 8pm we were at home in Pandelys.

To sum it up, Ibg, IIag, IIIag form students have participated in the meeting wit eTwinning partners, discussed “Dzukija” region’s the most beautiful places which could be presented to other eTwinning partners from EU countries, developed socializing and cooperating skills, shared their own experience, exchanged the ideas with friends, presented own school (Pandelys Gymnasium) and decided to start a new project “Kaip pašauksi, taip ir atsilieps“.
